Sewing Classes

These classes are tailored for individuals who have mastered the basics, completed the Introduction to Sewing course and are eager to delve deeper into the art of sewing. If you know how to operate a machine, these classes are perfect for you.

Whether you're aiming to undertake personal projects or simply enjoy the process of creating, these classes are an ideal stepping stone. They are designed to not only expand your technical abilities but also to instill confidence and a deeper appreciation for sewing as a craft.

Private Lessons

Opt for our tailored private sewing lessons, designed both for novices eager to embark on their sewing journey or for seasoned sewists looking to refine and expand their expertise. Each bespoke session is structured for a duration of 60 minutes, offering an immersive learning experience. Elevate your sewing acumen with personalized guidance and dedicated attention.

Private Lesson Fee: $75/hour (+$25 for each additional student on a shared lesson)

After School Sewing Program

Join our After School Sewing and Fashion Program, a dynamic 9-week course where students from elementary to high school can delve into the world of fashion and sewing. Scheduled around the school calendar with no sessions during President’s Day and Spring Break, the program offers age-specific classes limited to small groups to ensure personalized attention. Each student progresses at their own pace, focusing on personal projects with the addition of monthly pattern-making sessions. With the option to use personal or provided sewing machines and dedicated storage for ongoing projects, our program is designed to cultivate skills, creativity, and confidence in young designers. A makeup session is available to accommodate any missed classes, making this an ideal, flexible after-school activity for any budding fashionista

Slow Stitching

Join artist Mary Correa for an evening of creativity and relaxation at Slow Stitching: Sip-n-Stitch! In this two-hour workshop, you’ll dive into the meditative art of slow stitching to create a unique, hand-stitched work of art. Perfect for beginners and seasoned stitchers alike, these classes focus on using simple stitches and vibrant materials to create something truly special. Enjoy a cozy evening of stitching, socializing, and unwinding—no experience needed, just bring your creativity and a love for handmade art. Sip-n-Stitch classes are held in the evenings. A Saturday workshop for ages 12+ with adult participation takes place in February.

All materials included. Additional kits can be purchased from the instructor. A 4 student minimum is required.

Open Studio Hours/Assisted Studio Hours

Open Studio: Discover the freedom to sew at your own pace with our Open Studio Hours, available weekly during our regular class times. While other classes are in session, our second classroom is open for independent work, providing you with a fully equipped space to focus on your personal projects. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize our resources without the need for instructional guidance, perfect for finishing up a piece, experimenting with new techniques, or simply indulging in some uninterrupted sewing time.

Pricing: $25 per 2 hour session (discounted packages available)

Assisted Studio: Designed for individuals who wish to work on a personal project with the assistance of an instructor. This is ideal if you need that extra helping hand to guide you through a project. Note that this a shared classroom with one instructor helping all students. This is not to be used as a private lesson. Sewing machine operation knowledge is required.

Pricing: $50 per 2 hour session

Social Sewing

Join us for Social Sewing Hours on select Fridays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, where creativity meets community. These special evenings are dedicated to bringing sewing enthusiasts together in a relaxed, friendly environment. Work on your projects, share tips, and find inspiration while enjoying the company of fellow sewists. It’s the perfect way to end the week, surrounded by creativity and camaraderie. While no formal instruction is provided, the shared knowledge and enthusiasm of the group make these sessions both enjoyable and enriching. Lingerie Sewing Retreat
Spring 2025

Summer Fashion Design Camps 2025

Dive into a summer of creativity with our Fashion Design and Cosplay Camps at Sew Pinellas! Ideal for ages 9-17, these two-week camps, starting June 9, offer an immersive experience in fashion design and cosplay. From designing a fashion collection to creating cosplay costumes and accessories, each camp culminates in a showcase for family and friends. Spaces are limited to 12 students per camp, providing an intimate and focused learning environment. (Class on Juneteenth will include a special project to commemorate the holiday.)

Our camps offers an immersive full-day experience from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Please bring a packed lunch.
