Our Level 2 Introduction to Sewing Class is designed for those who already know the basics and want to grow their confidence with a range of new techniques and practical projects. In this hands-on, three-week course, you’ll explore essential sewing methods that will elevate the quality and creativity of your future projects—perfect for beginners who’ve had a taste of sewing and are eager to learn more.
Each 2-hour session focuses on foundational skills that sewists use time and time again. Throughout the course, you’ll complete 2 to 3 fun and functional projects that put your new knowledge to use while gaining valuable experience with different types of construction and finishing techniques.
Week 1: Seam Mastery & Pocket Play
You’ll dive into seam finishes, curved seams, seam bindings, and how to sew patch pockets. Learn the techniques that give your projects a clean, professional look, inside and out.
Week 2: Straps, Strength & Hems
This week focuses on making and attaching straps, reinforcing with box stitching, and creating beautiful hems. You’ll also pick up tips for topstitching and pressing for a polished finish.
Week 3: Closures & Hand Sewing
Round out your skills with techniques for sewing Velcro, adding buttons, and essential hand stitches that every sewist should know. It’s the little details that bring it all together!
